New London Ledge Lighthouse is at the mouth of the Thames River, near Groton and New London, Connecticut.
This was taken early in the morning after I had spent the night inside the lighthouse with the New England Ghost Project and a TV crew from "American Builder." New London Ledge Lighthouse has a reputation for being haunted. (See www.ghostvillage.com/resources/2007/gc_10032007.shtml)
Wow thats a great and rather spooky atmospheric shot, I don't think there is any such thing as ghosts though. I think because of the history that surrounds these buildings and because of their age people like to think they are hunted and I suspect ones like this one creak a bit. Thanks for sharing, I bet people are glad of the lighthouse with weather like that:)
ReplyDeleteI agree that most "hauntings" probably involve some imagination. I know, however, that the man's voice I heard say, "Hello!" at the top of the stairs at Portsmouth Harbor Light wasn't creaking. Maybe there's another explanation, but I haven't figured it out.
ReplyDeleteThe bottom line for me regarding ghosts is, "I don't know." I think of myself as skeptical, with an open mind.
Very nice shot!
ReplyDeleteI know her well.
